Noah Haidu Trio - Standards III

Noah Haidu, piano
Gervis Myles, bass
Aaron Seeber, drums

In celebration of his new release STANDARDS III, the brilliant New York pianist Noah Haidu joins forces with rising stars Gervis Myles (bass) and Aaron Seeber (drums) for his first Baltimore show of 2025. Haidu combines modernism, soul, and swing to forge his unique sound, captivating jazz audiences and critics alike.

The show will feature material from the new album and brand-new work from a long-awaited forthcoming album of original material -- a notable event from the pianist whom Downbeat termed an “innovative composer.” Additional repertoire is expected to include selections from Haidu’s universally acclaimed Kenny Kirkland tribute project, Doctone.

On the heels of glowing reviews from national press, widespread streaming and radio play, and sold-out touring across the U.S., New York pianist Noah Haidu’s return to Baltimore for this special trio show is eagerly anticipated.

The Noah Haidu Trio’s new album Standards III (Infinite Distances) explores imaginative interpretations, with Haidu’s clear, light touch rendering striking variations on themes composed or inspired by Dinah Washington, Richard Rodgers, and Jerome Kern as well as contemporaries like Stevie Wonder and Chappell Roan. “He has developed his own compelling brand of pianism,” declares The Wall Street Journal. Recent work has been hailed as “extraordinary” by Jazz Magazine, “really beautiful” by National Public Radio, and “stunning” by Downbeat. Indeed, it seems that audiences have caught up to the glowing praise long bestowed upon this important voice in jazz – a multi-dimensional artist who combines modernism, soul, and swing into his own singular style.

Haidu continues to demonstrate a remarkable talent for forging fluid collaboration among some of the most elite players in all of jazz right alongside the up-and-coming next generation. Any Noah Haidu Trio show is the embodiment of why Jazzwise remarked that their work amounts to “three masters of the craft of trio playing, conjuring magic.” As The Wall Street Journal went on to say, Haidu “by now has his own unique approach…sounding buoyant and free, like a pent-up spirit released.”
