Joseph Papp, visionary founder of Shakespeare in the Park and the NY Shakespeare Festival/Public Theatre, recounting his Brooklyn Yiddish upbringing, his controversial political struggles, and his revolutionary reconceiving of the creative process. This tribute concert adapts and encapsulates the brilliant life of the greatest American Theatre icon of the 20th century.
In this NY premiere musical tribute performance, world-renowned actor Avi Hoffman and many of his celebrity friends of Joe (live and virtually) join to celebrate the uniquely singular life of the legendary Broadway impresario Joe Papp.
