December 15, 2021 marks Stan Kenton’s 110 Birthday (December 15 1911- August 25, 1979) — a festive, special tribute concert live from An Die Musik to one of the greatest composers & band leaders of the previous century.
An all-star Baltimore-DC ensemble led by New York City pianist Alon Nechushtan will celebrate the rich tradition of Stan Kenton’s music in a more contemporary interpretation. This marks the 4th consecutive tribute project by Alon Nechushtan featuring ‘Todd Marcus and Friends’ which commenced by ‘celebrating Billy Strayhorn’s centennial Birthday’ at The Kennedy Center, Thelonious Monk’s 100th Birthday at the Smithsonian Museum and followed by a broadcast of ‘The World according to Dave Brubeck at 100th’ at An die Musik, last year featuring Warren Wolf.
