A native of Richmond, Virginia and a distinguished alumna of Howard University, Kia Bennett has a smooth soul and a recognized voice in the music industry. She first emerged on the scene with the respected Washington D.C. group "Entyme," performing alongside celebrated soul artists Geno Young, Sy Smith, and Yahzarah.
Kia is a member of the new school RAMP (Roy Ayers Music Production), a legendary collective whose musical contributions have been sampled in timeless hits such as A Tribe Called Quest’s "Bonita Applebum," Mary J. Blige’s "My Life," and Erykah Badu’s "Amerykah’s Promise." A highly sought-after vocalist, Ms. Bennett has worked with and shared the international stage with icons including Roy Ayers, D'Angelo, Angie Stone, Ledisi, and Michael Bolton.
In addition to her work as former half of the duo KiDe’ (with Desiree Jordan), Kia recently reached a new career milestone at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. She contributed her vocal talents to the track “Tuesday’s Thoughts” on Mad Skillz’s “Words For Days, Volume 1,” which took home the Grammy for Best Spoken Word and Poetry Album.
