Born into a family of Venezuelan folk musicians, jazz pianist Benito Gonzalez has always had a deep-rooted appreciation for tradition. Today, as a rising star, Gonzalez follows in the footsteps of jazz’s ancestral forebears. To date, he has shared the stage with heavy hitters like Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, Antonio Sanchez, T.K. Blue, and Nicholas Payton, and garnered critical acclaim for his work on Kenny Garrett’s Grammy-nominated album Seeds from the Underground. The fusion of world rhythms and straight-ahead jazz make this passionate performer an audience favorite all over the world.

Michael Bowie is an internationally recognized musician, performing on both the electric and contrabass. With roots in the Washington D.C. jazz and gospel community, he was a recipient of the National Endowment of the Arts Award in Jazz Studies and trained with Betty Carter and Keter Betts. Soon after, Michael signed with Verve Records as an original member of “The Harper Brothers”. He went on to perform, record and tour with Abdulla Ibrahim, Michel Pettruciani, including the Grammy Award-winning “Look What I Got” with Betty Carter.

Lee Pearson is known as one of the most vibrant and electrifying drummers of today. He plays lays with some of the finest names in music. From Broadway to Jazz, Hip-Hop and R&B, he maintains the classic vocabulary of percussion. A Baltimore native, he has recorded great musicians such as Hank Jones, Roy Hargrove, John Hicks, Kenny Barron, Christian McBride, Mike Stern, Peter Bernstein, David Murray, The World Saxophone Quartet, Roy Ayers, Ronnie Laws, Lonnie Liston Smith, Wayne Henderson, Tom Brown, and Hamiet Bluiett. In addition to recordings, he has toured and performed with a long list of artists. He also participated in a world tour with Savion Glover’s four-time Tony Award-winning Broadway show, Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk.
