The Alex Hamburger and José Luiz Martins Duo is a project that explores many different styles through a very interactive approach. Being from Washington DC and São Paulo and forming the group in Switzerland, they pull from many different influences, creating a very unique and inter-cultural repertoire. From Joni Mitchell to Lennie Tristano, Djavan to Joe Henderson, standards and even original music as well, Alex and José Luiz have a very interesting and fresh way of exploring interplay in a captivating performance. Their duo EP "Vapor Trails" recorded in Basel Switzerland where the two met was released in the summer of 2019.
