Richard "Sleepy" Floyd is a highly versatile drummer, composer, and producer deeply embedded in the Indianapolis music scene. With over two decades of experience, he effortlessly moves between genres like jazz, rock, hip-hop, and gospel, collaborating with diverse artists. He co-founded The Native Sun, a live hip-hop collective, and actively curates music events in the city.
Beyond his musical talents, Sleepy is a key advocate for Indianapolis artists. As the executive director of the Inspire Music Collective, he empowers musicians by providing essential resources, training, and tools for economic sustainability. He champions fair compensation and works to strengthen the local arts ecosystem through education, mentorship, and collaborative projects, making him a vital and influential figure in Indianapolis' cultural landscape.
