Brooklyn based Argentinian pianist and composer Emilio Teubal premiers new works for solo piano. Teubal's work juggles contemporary tango, jazz, and contemporary classical influences.

Emilio has recorded over 30 albums as a sideman and as composer/bandleader, including the 2018 Latin Grammy Winner album "Vigor Tanguero" by the Pedro Giraudo Group. Futuro, his latest release as bandleader/composer, is on Bandcamps 2023 list of best jazz albums.

A prolific composer and arranger, Emilio identifies his artistry and creative search to the music of Latin America and the permanent elasticity of stylistic limits. His latest piano solo record, Tides, is a compilation of improvised and composed pieces for solo piano on New Focus Recordings and distributed by Naxos. Emilio has published the sheet music of that album as a book called Tides and Other Works for Piano.

Emilio is the winner of the 2022 Ise-Shima Art Comitee's 1st Popular Music Composition Competition in Japan. He received 2nd place in the 2022 Tango Composition Contest at Kavala Tango Days Cosmopolis Festival in Greece. He is a recipient of the 2007 Meet The Composer's prestigious Van Lier Fellowship that supports talented, culturally diverse young people who are seriously dedicated to a career in the arts. He was also awarded the New York Foundation for the Arts "City Artist Corps” grant in 2021.

Emilio has been an in-demand composer for the last 10 years; his commissions include a piece to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran reform commissioned by Saint Peter'a Church (2017), a solo guitar piece for the virtuoso guitarist Dan Lippel (2019), a piece for the Adam Tully Tango Trio included on his album "La Llegada"(2016), a piece for the Japanese experimental contemporary group "Music KART"(2020), a piece for Japanese violinist Machiko Ozawa featured on her 2022 album, “Mi Oblivion II” released by Composers Concordance Records. Emilio is currently working on a trio piece for clarinetist Thomas Percey funded by a commission award from the New York State Council for the Arts.

A versatile pianist who can navigate through different styles of written and improvised music, Emilio has performed in some of the most prestigious venues and theaters in the United States. He has been touring Japan regularly since 2018 performing at the most prestigious theaters and music venues throughout the country. He has been an essential member of the Tango, Latin, and Jazz scene of New York performing and recording with the Pedro Giraudo Quartet (2018 Latin Grammy winner), Marta Gomez, Adam Tully Trio, Pablo Lanouguere Quintet, Colectivo Tangente, Sergio Reyes’s Romancero Latinoamericano, Los Chantas tango group, Sam Sadigursky, Erik Friedlander and Satoshi Takeishi, and others.
