Pianist and composer Charu Suri, who became the first Indian jazz artist at Carnegie Hall, will present her "raga jazz" work, various originals and a few standards, as well. Ragas are modal scales from India, and Suri has spent much of her work exploring the possibilities and intersection of the East and West. She will play piano solo versions from her albums The Book of Ragas vols 1 and 2, as well as from her upcoming album, Ragas & Waltzes. Visit her site at www.charusuri.com
