As seasons change in troubled times, New Dominion Chorale channels the power of music with Brahms' Requiem, Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music, and new music, Messages from Everywhere by Jocelyn Hagen. The NDC performance is Sunday, November 1, 2026, 4 p.m. at Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center, 4915 East Campus Drive, Alexandria, VA 22311. The 110-voice New Dominion Chorale, conducted by Casey Cook, performs with full orchestra and noted soloists, soprano Fotina Naumenko and baritone Collin Power. Sung in German, Ein Deutsches Requiem departs from traditional liturgy to offer hope and comfort for all who grieve. The Serenade to Music builds from Shakespeare's text to celebrate “the touches of sweet harmony.” Messages from Everywhere includes visual projections for the text, “each note light… each note hope… saved by song.”
