Naptown Trombone Collective

The Naptown Trombone Collective is back at the Jazz Kitchen to pay tribute to the incomparable JJ Johnson near what would have been his 102nd birthday. Born right here in Indianapolis on January 22nd, 1924, JJ's virtuosic improvisation set the standard for trombone in a bebop setting and served as an inspiration for generations of trombonists to come. The NTC will perform a variety of compositions and arrangements of JJ's ranging from swinging standards, gorgeous ballads, and original film music. You won't want to miss some of Indy's best trombonists playing the music of the one who started it all!
