Washington-born international star Denyce Graves will make her debut as the Countess in this concert version of Tchaikovsky’s opera “The Queen of Spades,” based on a story by Pushkin. Joining Graves will be soprano Jennifer Casey Cabot as Liza, tenor Viktor Antipenko as Herman and pianists Genadi Zagor and Vera Danchenko-Stern. Highlights of the 1890 masterpiece, sung in Russian, will be interspersed with English narration by actor Rick Foucheux, a Woolly Mammoth company member and George Washington University faculty member.
