Garaj Mahal is a strange and colorful bird. Its music draws heavily from '70s fusion, with elements of everything from jazz, rock, Indian music, funk and a whole lot of JAM. The band consists of co-founders Kai Eckhardt on bass and Fareed Haque on guitar, along with Oz Ezzeldin on keyboards and Hassan Hurd on drums. The playing and interplay are first-rate, and there are plenty of imaginative touches throughout. The music never becomes predictable and will always leave the audience wanting more.
