Grupo Tempranillo came together when Maksim Tsvetovat (flute), Fulvia Fossati (vocals) and Felix Contreras (percussion) realized that there’s so many songs in the Great Latin American Songbook that do not get the attention they deserve, and almost never get a more modern latin jazz interpretation. So we went to the studio and recorded what felt right.
Grupo Tempranillo just I finished a 3 month residency at New York’s Williamsburg Music Center, and is ready to bring its signature sound back home to DC.
Featuring Joe Brotherton (trumpet), Francesca Romero (piano) and special guests, we will take you to Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Mexico, and will turn up the heat on a cold winter day!
