Grand Ole' Ditch is all about having some new fun with that old Appalachian sound. They began as a home-brewed bluegrass band out of the mountain town of Cumberland MD, deriving their name from an important piece of Western Maryland history: the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. The band is now creating a presence of their own in the Mid-Atlantic bluegrass scene, bringing you the nickel-wound vibrations you've always longed for, emanating from the pigeon-holed boxes we have all come to know. The band brings high-energy and a youthful perspective to the bluegrass genre. With each member steeped in diverse musical roots, the resulting rhythm, color and harmony is like no other. Partnered with their impressive gig resume, Ditch has self-produced three albums and will be heading back into the studio soon for a fourth. The band has shared the stage with Del McCoury, The Travelin' McCoury's, Sierra Hull, Peter Rowan, Larry Keel, Jeremy Garrett of the Infamous Stringdusters, Brittany Haas from A Prairie Home Companion and Pappy from Cabinet. Covering genres from old-time to bluegrass and even a little Stevie Wonder, this band is sure to thrill traditionalists and new listeners alike.
