Tim Porter is a mandolinist of wide ranging musical interests rooted in the blues, jazz, Celtic, Indian, and worship genres. He is the Chairman of the Board of the National Jazz Museum In Harlem. Tim lectures and performs in the US, and Europe, presenting and developing innovative programs and courses such as "Mies and Miles; Architecture and Design in Music", Migration Sketches and Music of the Diasporas and The Evolution of Jazz Mandolin. He has performed with jazz greats, Roni Ben-Hur, Santi Debriano,Harvie S, Don Byron, AlexGressel, and Steve Williams, with blues and folk musicians, Guy Davis, Earl White,Phelder Saint Germain. Sparky and Rhonda Rucker, and Celtic vocalist, Kerrin Kennedy Perkins, among many others.
