Flash Fiction Critique
Instructor: Patricia Pagan Flaherty
Flash fiction is a fascinating genre that is steadily growing in popularity. Like poetry, flash fiction might appear simple to write, but writing a compelling story with a limited number of words requires a great deal of skill. In this workshop, students will practice writing with precision. Students will bring in one piece of their flash fiction to share with their fellow writers. Please come prepared with nine copies of a flash fiction story of 750 words (or fewer) in order to participate in a rigorous critique offered in a supportive and encouraging environment. At the end of the workshop, we will discuss the process of submitting stories so that we can all complete the workshop feeling empowered to create and submit high quality pieces of flash fiction for publication.
