Frank "Scooby" Sirius: The Godson of Go-Go and Maestro of
the DMV Sound

A powerhouse of musical talent, Frank "Scooby" Sirius is a
name that resonates across stages, studios, and airwaves as a
true innovator and ambassador of Washington, D.C's most
iconic musical export-Go-Go. Crowned the "Godson of Go-
Go", Scooby has earned his place in music history as one of
the most influential voices and visionaries in the evolution of
the genre, particularly as a pioneer of the Grown & Sexy Go-
Go movement, which has brought a smoother, more refined,
yet no less electric energy to the culture.

As the frontman and founder of Sirius Company, and a
longtime leader in the Chuck Brown Band, Scooby carries the
torch lit by Go-Go legend Chuck Brown, infusing it with soul, versatility, and showmanship that
is second to none. His performances are a celebration of sound marked by crowd-moving call-
and-response, emotionally rich melodies, and a mastery of rhythm that transcends generations.
What sets Scooby apart is more than his charisma or stage presence, it's his exceptional musical
intelligence. A self-taught instrumentalist, Frank plays multiple instruments fluently, learning
through both sight and sound. His rare ability to read music and play by ear allows him to shift
seamlessly across genres, whether it's funk, soul, gospel, jazz, R&B, or traditional Go-Go. This
versatility has made him a sought-after collaborator and studio talent, with a style that is as
emotionally resonant as it is technically masterful.

An Emmy Award-winning singer and songwriter, Frank's artistry has been recognized at the
highest levels. His work speaks not only to his personal excellence but also to his commitment
to representing the cultural vibrancy and soul of the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) region.
Scooby has graced stages across the nation, always carrying with him the essence of D.C.-its
stories, its rhythms, and its voice.

Inspired by legends like Chuck Brown and the Junkyard Band, Frank Sirius honors his roots while
fearlessly innovating. Through his leadership, Sirius Company has become a movement-a
sound that's fresh yet familiar, rich with musicianship, and unapologetically tied to the
heartbeat of his hometown.

Whether he's behind the mic, behind the scenes, or behind the keys, Frank "Scooby" Sirius is
an educator, an entertainer, and an enduring force in Black American music. With a mission to
bridge generations and genres, he continues to write the soundtrack of the city's soul-one
performance at a time.
