GP Promotions presents Feelin' The Funk Band, ten of the area's finest and funkiest musicians dedicated to bringing back the best funk music from the 1970s including classic songs by Parliament-Funkadelic, Ohio Players, Mandrill, Lakeside, Cameo and many other legendary funk bands from the golden era of funk music when the bass was thumpin', the horn section was blastin' and we were "Feelin' The Funk!"
Feelin' The Funk Band is under the direction of Keith "Showtime" Busey, former music director for The Stylistics and bass player extraordinaire currently with Heatwave. The band also features Robert "Mousey" Thompson on drums formerly with James Brown, Chris Fischer on keyboards formerly with Cuba Gooding Sr., Ignatious Mason of Heatwave and Tim Fortune on vocals, Chuck Deas on percussion and vocals, Alan Scott on guitar renowned for his blazing solos, and the dynamic horn section including Dr. Gilbert Pryor on trumpet, Lenny Harris on saxophone and Wondel Brown on trombone.
Recently at Bethesda Blues & Jazz, Feelin' The Funk Band backed up Steve Arrington, former lead singer of the popular funk band Slave, and the sold out audience applauded the performance of their classic songs. This is a talented ensemble of veteran musicians who have performed alongside great music artists and are bringing back the funk from back in the day when music was all about getting down!
