Tom Knific, Cleveland native and Azica Recording Artist, returns to Nighttown for what is sure to be a fabulous reunion and musical celebration. The Tom Knific Quartet has toured Africa, Russia, the US, and received rave reviews for Lines of Influence, and The Muse, on Cleveland’s Azica Records. Knific has gone on to perform on tour and record with many of the great jazz and classical artists of our time including Dave Brubeck, Michel Legrand, Fred Hersch, Randy Brecker, Billy Hart, Edward Simon, Toots Thielemans, Andre Watts, Pepe Romero, and many more. He is heard on over 30 CD’s. Tom is emeritus Director of Jazz Studies of the award-winning jazz program at Western Michigan University. The TKQ is featuring Cleveland’s internationally heralded percussionist Jamey Haddad, along with pianist and son Gene Knific, and West Coast Flugelhorn star, Dmitri Matheny.
Knific has planned some special dedications he has composed to celebrate this homecoming honoring his Cleveland roots.
A world class musician, native Clevelander Jamey Haddad spent most of 2012 and 2013 on tour with Paul Simon enhancing his world famous music with his percussion. Jamey Haddad has been a professional jazz musician for over 25 years. He has toured and recorded with many greats including Carly Simon, Joe Lovano, Paul Winter, Kenny Werner, and Dave Liebman.
Currently Jamey teaches at Oberlin and he continues to tour as the leader of his own group, and as a special guest, nationally and internationally.
