The Bethesda Blues and Jazz Foundation is proud to announce the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Youth Orchestra’s first recital Monday, June 26th at 7:30 pm. Since April 2017, the orchestra led by music director Fred Foss and music instructor Bob Murad, have created a musical environment that inspires students to excel confidently in the complex genre of jazz and bluesmusic.
The evening presentation will include jazz and blues hits such as: “Blue Boss,” “All Blues,” and the B. B. King classic, “The Thrill is Gone.”
The event will also serve as a “mini” fund raiser for the youth orchestra. The mission of the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Foundation: To provide an environment and opportunity for young musicians, ages 11 to 16 years old, to experience and perform jazz music, inspiring their creativity, and cooperative learning skills within a youth orchestra that will perform jazz and blues music to audiences of all ages locally, nationally, and internationally; with the intention of motivating other young people to play a musical instrument and participate in the jazz art form.
