Composer/Pianist George Spicka has composed over 650 works, mostly in new jazz and modern classical genres. Besides his own work, tonight's concerts feature the work of Baltimore jazz composers Mitch Mirkin, Gail Marten, and Jim Stewart.

Free Fall Baltimore is presented by BGE, and is a program of the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Award wnning composer George Spicka has been promoting the work of area jazz composers ever since he moved back to his native Baltimore in the late 1980s. Past performance venues include the Kennedy Center, Oregon Ridge Park, and Blues Alley. He’s performed three times on Maryland Public television, and has been showcased twice in Greenwich Village.
Baltimore Jazz Works' debut performance was October 2016 at An die Musik Live. Since then, the ensemble has performed on the Main Stage at Light City Baltimore, and Artscape 2017. In addition, for Artscape 2017, Mr. Spicka performed a concert of solo-piano compositions at MICA’s Brown Center.
