"Auld TWANG Syne” features two of the hottest, funnest, dancin’est, roots rockin'est DC area bands: The Thrillbillys and Ruthie and the Wranglers. They’ll be twangin' 'tween the holidays and giving you a great big reason to rock. It’s a party you won’t want to miss at Bethesda Blues and Jazz on Wednesday, December 27th!
Whether you are looking for a rave up, nursing a hangover, meeting friends and family, emerging from a pile of gifts, recovering from shopping, or just wanna let loose, here’s your chance. You can take advantage of the roomy dance floor and some quality food and drink and it all shakes down in a gorgeous refurbished art deco theatre opened as a movie house in 1938. You don’t have to bring a gift, or a pie, or a tin for leftovers, just bring yourself and go home with raised spirits and a big dose of TWANG!
Ruthie and the Wranglers are a staple of the DC area music scene and known for their high energy Americana Country, Rockabilly, Roots Rock and a splash of Surf. Their spritely hillbilly harmonies and clever originals, and down-home attitude keep people coming back for more. Ruthie Logsdon heads up the band with Greg Hardin on bass, featuring Bill Starks on piano, Andy Rutherford on guitars and Tom Fridrich on drums.
The Thrillbillys are made up of a who's who of veterans of the DC area music scene: Leader Johnny Castle (Nighthawks, and formerly with Bill Kirchen and Switchblade) The Rock ’n’ Roll/Pop Rock master David Kitchen plus Roots Rock and Country guitar slinger Andy Rutherford and FEATURING Robbie Magruder on drums.
Super-charged artist collaborations and special guests will help make this a memorable night!
