Pianist Sharp Radway joins us from NYC, opening Season 12 of PianoJazz DC. Sharp is a protege of the late NEA Jazzmaster Randy Weston. He has worked with countless jazz luminaries, including Yusef Lateef, Benny Golson, Reggie Workman, Eddie Henderson, Bucky Pizzarelli, Diane Schuur, Kevin Mahogany, Nnenna Freelon, and Randy Brecker.

Sharp has appeared in film with Mos Def, Beyonce Knowles, Cedric the Entertainer in the movie Cadillac Records. He also appeared in the Off-Broadway play The Connection.

Sharp is the author of the book Musicianship 101 (What They Don’t Tell You In School), and maintains a busy teaching schedule.

Sharp latest recording, “Black Woman - A Conversation” charted among the top 100 Jazz records played upon release. He has appeared at The Blue Note, Dizzy's Coca Cola Club, Harlem Stage, Small's Jazz Club, Birdland, Smoke Jazz Club, The Iridium, Minton's Playhouse, Kitano, Zinc Bar, among many others. He frequents jazz festivals worldwide.
