Brendan Schnabel is a saxophonist based in the Washington, D.C area. His musical journey began in his hometown of Chesapeake, VA in school bands where he quickly developed a strong personal connection to jazz, inspired by the music of John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington and countless others. he pursued his musical studies further at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, earning his B.M. in Jazz Performance in 2013.
Since graduation Brendan has kept active musically, performing at clubs, festivals, and private events throughout southeast VA, Richmond, and the DMV area, as well as on cruise ships which have brought him to the Caribbean and Canada. This year the album "B-Snap-tet" was released, where both his playing and original compositions and arrangements were featured extensively. Brendan's approach to his own music entails a respect for tradition while embracing spontaneity and risk-taking. He currently attends the University of Maryland where he pursuing his Master's degree in Jazz Performance.
