Due to the wonderful response to the sold out show on June 7th, All-Star Purple Party is back with a second show in tribute to Prince, one of the greatest musical artists of our time. Performing again will be an all-star ensemble of accomplished musicians and singers covering Prince's most popular and enduring songs from his cherished music catalog. If you missed the outstanding first show or want to come back and experience it again, this is your chance to enjoy a memorable evening of music during the long holiday weekend!
Performing as Prince once again is gifted lead singer Edward "Junie" Henderson, who received ovations all night at the first show for his dazzling vocals and commanding stage presence that captured the soul, spirit and emotion of Prince's electrifying performances. Junie is one of the most talented performers in this area and best known as singer with E.U. (Experience Unlimited) on the classic #4 R&B hit "Taste of Your Love."
The all-star band is headlined by Greg Boyer, a master trombonist who recorded and toured with Prince as member of New Power Generation. He has also performed with Parliament-Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, Maceo Parker, Chuck Brown, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Alex Bugnon, Eric Benet and many more.
The band is led by brothers Gary Grainger on bass and Greg Grainger on drums, leaders of their own band Grainger as well as the R&B band Pockets, which had a top 20 R&B hit "Come Go With Me" produced by Maurice White and Verdine White of Earth, Wind & Fire.
Other members of the band include guitarist Robert "Wah Wah" LeGrand (Teddy Pendergrass), keyboardist Chris Fischer (Cuba Gooding Sr.) and keyboardist Cherie Mitchell (Chuck Brown Band).
