During the cold Maine winter of 2009, jazz-infused harmonies met bluegrass roots in Jo’s small kitchen. Two years later they hit the road with spot-on vocal harmonies and groove driven, genre bending arrangements of original songs and select covers.
Weilding acoustic guitar and banjo, Sorcha “unveils a suite of musical styles that shows a wide-ranging songwriting ability…witty verses with smart rhymes” (Sam Pfeifle, Portland Pheonix) as Jo rolls her classical cello background into funky bluegrass chops a-la Crooked Still and Ben Sollee.
Their live performances are toe-tappingly catchy, moving and downright joyful – from the 2012 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist showcase to Club Passim to the west coast.
