Cainan Grier

Featuring: Cainan Grier (voice and keys), Obasi Akoto (bass), and David Zavracky (winds/reeds)  What’s It All About is an intimate concert that blends jazz, soul, and theatrical storytelling into a 75-minute musical journey. Through a thoughtfully curated setlist, the evening explores themes of wonder, memory, love, loss, personal truth, and spiritual seeking. Anchored by original arrangements and heartfelt interpretations, the performance invites listeners into a deeply personal conversation—one that asks life’s big questions, wrestles with vulnerability, and celebrates joy and resilience through music.

Guests will also enjoy a curated small plates menu that reflects the cultural roots and personal memories that inspired the music. The evening’s offerings include:

  • Jamaican Escovitch (Fried Red Snapper with Pickled Vegetables)
  • Ropa Vieja (Cuban Braised Beef)
  • Indian-Style Chicken Curry
  • Jamaican Rice and Peas
  • Two signature drinks:
    • Sunrise, Sunset – A spiced hibiscus sorrel, rich in Caribbean tradition and named after the classic song from Fiddler on the Roof
    • Sangria de Holguín – A fruit-forward red wine punch inspired by the Cuban city of Holguín and the rhythms that shaped this evening’s sound
