Meet Neal Spitzer, Our Early Childhood Educator
Neal Spitzer has a degree in Jazz Performance from The New School as well as a Masters of Education from Teacher’s College. He initially worked as a consultant for the NYC Board Of Education with residencies in over 120 different schools throughout the five boroughs. This led to a full time gig for two years as a general music teacher at PS16 in the Bronx.
From there, Neal went on to run the Elementary Band Program at Washington Irving Public School in Tarrytown, NY for eighteen years. His student ensembles were featured at many events including being accompanied by The Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Carnegie Hall!!
Neal Spitzer has had the honor to play with many of our jazz legends including Jimmy Cobb, Milt Hinton and Bakhiti Kumalo. His groups have toured North America and Europe!
