Just off of an extensive European tour and the release of their album Emancipation Suite, Scatter The Atoms That Remain is back in the US bringing the love and joy of cosmic universal expression. Much like their latest album, live performances of STATR often go uninterrupted by pauses or speaking. A contiguous concert that grabs the heart of those in attendance and plucks away at their heart strings. Led by the great drummer Franklin Kiermyer and steered by pianist Davis Whitfield, this group was fated to meet, bond, create and share their musical vision with the world. As said by Howard Mandel in his 4 star **** review of Emancipation Suite in the April 2022 issue of DownBeat Magazine: 

Franklin Kiermyer is known mostly for his expansive style of drumming, distinct sound and the spiritual focus of his music. “Kiermyer plays and composes with an almost evangelical belief in jazz as a form of pure inspiration.” Entertainment Weekly

Davis Whitfield, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1993, grew up immersed in the music. Coming from a lauded musical family, he has accomplished a lot at a young age. While still in high school, Davis was appointed Assistant Director of the Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra in New York City. Continuing his studies at Berklee, he was the recipient of their top honor, the Presidential Scholarship. Davis has toured in the United States, France, Spain, Japan and Scandinavia. Still in his early 20’s, he already has a voice of his own on the piano.

After attending Berklee School of Music Gene Perla moved to New York and began his musical career as a jazz bassist. He has performed and/or recorded with Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Herman, Elvin Jones, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, Joni Mitchell, Buddy Rich, Sonny Rollins, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Stone Alliance, and Sarah Vaughan. In the early 1970's he formed music publishing and record companies, and his group “Stone Alliance” traveled to South America and Europe which gave him experience in management and booking. Other efforts include Broadway sound design (Tony Award for “City of Angels”), recording studio operations, and Webmaster for the Jazz Education Network. He teaches at Lehigh University and The New School University.

Ryan Devlin is a 25 year old saxophonist and private woodwind instructor living in Boston, MA. Devlin started his musical journey with his father Scott Devlin who was the leader of the Walt Disney World Sax Quartet. He is completing his masters degree at New England Conservatory under the direction of saxophonist Jerry Bergonz
