Trina Broussard is a R&B singer and songwriter. Broussard began career in 1997 when she covered Minnie Riperton's song "Inside My Love. A year later in 1998, Broussard signed a record contract with Jermaine Dupri's label So So Def, later leave after first album was stalled. In 2002, Broussard released her first album Inside My Love on Motown/Universal Records, with singles "Sailing" and "Love You So Much". In 2004, Broussard released her single "Dreaming of One" as the lead single from her second album, Same Girl. The album's release was later followed by the release of two additional singles "Losing My Mind" and '"Joy". In 2009, Broussard returned to music industry and embark on a short promo tour. Announced by Broussard, her third studio album Life of a Libra will be released in 2010.

Born on D-Day (June 6, 1944) and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, he took his first piano lessons at age six but was largely self-taught. His musical collaborations span multiple genres and styles. In August 2000 Monty Alexander was awarded the title of Commander in the Order of Distinction by the Jamaican government for outstanding services to Jamaica in his capacity as worldwide music ambassador. Alexander maintains a rigorous touring schedule worldwide, from jazz clubs to concert halls and playing at Jazz Festivals. To date Monty Alexander has recorded over 70 albums as a leader.

In a career spanning five decades, pianist Monty Alexander has built a reputation exploring the worlds of American jazz, popular song, and the music of his native Jamaica, finding in each a sincere spirit of musical expression.

Pieces of a Dream emerged out of Philadelphias music scene in 1976. Keyboardist James Lloyd, drummer Curtis Harmon and former bassist Cedric Napoleon, were (and still are) managed by the drummers father and uncle, Danny and Bill Harmon, respectively. The group based their name on Pieces of Dreams, a cover tune by Stanley Turrentine that the group performed. The youthful exuberance of those two Philly kids from the mid-70s is still very much alive in Soul Intent, Pieces of a Dreams latest effort on Heads Up. Its that kind of innovation and eclecticism that keeps Pieces of a Dream fresh and authentic in a jazz world thats ever-changing.

At age 13, they toured the U.K., playing traditional jazz and swing music. Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, they were first mentored by saxophonist Paul Carr, before attending Juilliard. Peter and Will Anderson have played with Wynton Marsalis Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Jimmy Heath Big Band, Village Vanguard Orchestra, Bob Wilber, Wycliffe Gordon, and Michael Feinstein. They have produced and performed in two highly-acclaimed off-broadway jazz shows at 59E59 Theaters in 2010 and 2012, honoring Artie Shaw and the Dorsey Brothers, the last of which sold out for 30 consecutive shows. Peter and Will are featured in HBOs Boardwalk Empire and on the Grammy-winning soundtrack with Vince Giordanos Nighthawks, with whom they frequently perform.

marie-claire was born in Dominica West Indies and moved to the Bronx, New York as a child. Due to her love of the two cultures, she has split her time between both places as an international performer. She was classically trained to sing opera by Maestro Guido Caputo and Maestro Frascati of the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy. Further training includes two years under Marc Forrest in Los Angeles and exclusive study under Raymond Buckingham in New York City. It was Buckingham who recognized the rich and deep vocal timbre of her voice, discovering she is a rare operatic contralto. About the Artist: Abbe Buck, a native Chicagoan, began to listen to the big bands of Woody Herman and Gene Krupa in Junior High. She began voice training at age 10 and singing professionally (and playing slide trombone) while in 9th grade. Buck had subsequently worked with several big bands including the Marie Landis Big Band in Philadelphia. Buck revisited her love of singers and songs in her early 30's, during a chance meeting with the late, great Rosemary Clooney. Zambian-born guitarist Robert Mwamba's musical career started heating up while he was attending Baruch College of the City University of New York. Musical prodigy Jessy J began her journey on the piano at age four, and she enjoyed an active career as a competitive artist, traveling to perform at major conferences, competitions, and festivals. By the age of 15 Jessy was named Piano State Champion, at the Bela Bartok festival in California. At the same time Jessy was also enjoying a successful saxophone career, performing in many state honor bands, including the Grammy Band, and international festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. luent in Spanish, the Samba rhythms of Cannonball Adderley's collaborations with Sergio Mendez awakened her Latin Roots. The "sound of the music" called to her and encouraged her to explore. As a teen she studied the recordings of Cannonball Adderley and a lifelong love affair with Jazz began.

Carolyn Malachis unique approach to music combines Jazz, Hip Hop, Spoken Word, and lots of imagination. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Shanice Lorraine Wilson starred in a KFC commercial with Ella Fitzgerald at 9. Later, she was discovered by A&M Records at the age of eleven, and released her debut album, Discovery, in 1987, scored the singer a 1987 Soul Train Award nomination for Best New Artist. She signed a record deal at Motown Records in 1991. Her 1991 album Inner Child contained the popular hit single I Love Your Smile. Also included on the album is a cover of Minnie Ripertons 1974 hit Loving You. This and other songs like Fly Away helped showcase her rare coloratura soprano talent.

ngela Winbush is a "three-hyphen" musician - producer- arranger-composer-performer. Originally as part of the duo Ren and ngela, and is still around today, creating enveloping tracks with layers of keyboards, gorgeous melodic hooks and lush vocals. Winbush has a powerful voice, an exceptional range and a unique style, she started out as a backup singer for Stevie Wonder. Founded in 2008 by singer/songwriter Justin Trawick, "The 9 Songwriter Series" is a touring live music event based in Washington, DC. The show was created with the idea of nine artists getting together and combining their talents in order to play in nicer clubs and to larger amounts of people. Each installment features nine solo singer/songwriters performing in rotation and often sitting in with each other, providing audiences with a rich, intimate, varied listening experience. To date, over 60 different artists have participated in "The 9", at events in DC, Arlington, Bethesda, Baltimore, Annapolis, New York City, Richmond, Charlottesville, Charlotte, and Philadelphia.

Blanchard was born in New Orleans. In his teens Blanchard attended the New Orleans Center of Creative Arts, where he studied and played with saxophonist Donald Harrison. Harrison and Blanchard replaced Wynton and Branford Marsalis in Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. Blanchard is well known as a performer and musical composer for films, including several by Spike Lee. For Lee's film Mo' Better Blues Blanchard was musical arranger and a trumpet coach for actor Denzel Washington. Despite his interest and participation in film, television and theater, though, Blanchard regards himself first and foremost as a jazz musician.

Terence Blanchard has contributed compelling scores to Spike Lee's movies 25th Hour and When the Levees Broke. He's also a scorching player whose quintet features some of the brightest young talents in jazz.
