Wayna is a writer, performer, and GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter, who was born in Ethiopia and raised in the suburbs of Washington, DC. She worked as a writer for the Clinton White House before self-releasing three solo albums, garnering two Billboard-charting singles and a Grammy nomination in the R&B Best Urban Alternative category. Wayna has performed across the US and abroad – including shows at the Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, Essence Fest, and the White House. In 2015, she joined the iconic Stevie Wonder as a vocalist in his live band, touring extensively with the Songs In the Key of Life Tour and in various performances throughout the US, Canada and London.
